AB InBev aim to reach net zero by 2040 across value chain

The drinks company have announced its ambitions to achieve net zero across the value chain by 2040, in efforts to help tackle the climate crisis.

AB InBev announce commitments to drive decarbonisation and build climate resilience through their 2025 Sustainability Goals.

Significant progress has been made towards the organisation achieving their 2025 Sustainability Goals.

Between 2017 and 2020, absolute GHG emissions in operations (Scopes 1 and 2) reduced by nearly 25% and value chain emissions (Scopes 1, 2, 3) reduced by over 10% per hectoliter across the value chain.

Earlier this year, AB InBev announced the first carbon neutral breweries in Wuhan, China, and Ponta Grossa, Brazil and the first carbon neutral malthouse in Brazil.

Additionally, the drinks giant has partnered to install its first green hydrogen station in Magor, UK.

To accelerate their climate transition, AB InBev plan to collaborate with suppliers and retailers, partner with start-ups, and reduce local emissions through investment that drives local innovation.

AB InBev also plan to engage with farmers in the supply chain to scale regenerative agriculture practices and utilise nature-based solutions.

AB InBev will continue to disclose progress on its 2025 Sustainability Goals and ambition to achieve net zero by 2040.
