Abu Dhabi company awarded LEED Gold certificate
The Mubadala real estate company has been awarded LEED-CS Gold for Sowwah Square – a 450,000 sqm development on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The Mubadala real estate company has been awarded LEED-CS Gold for Sowwah Square – a 450,000 sqm development on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
In addition to hosting the new headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), this new development will feature commercial towers, luxury hotels and more than 30,000 sqm of retail and dining space.
The 105 hectare Al Maryah Island will be the site of Abu Dhabi’s new central business district (CBD), and Sowwah Square will be it's focal point.
A Mubadala joint venture company, John Buck International, focuses on environmentally friendly, sustainable commercial real estate development and is part of the Urban Planning Council’s Plan Abu Dhabi 2030.
The LEED certification takes into account Mubadala’s achievements in relation to the appropriate site, water and energy-efficient fittings, indoor air quality and innovative design.
