COP15: 65 world leaders RSVP ahead of climate talks
With the climate talks in Copenhagen just weeks away, Denmark has additionally invited 191 heads of state and government in a last attempt towards securing a climate action deal.

With the climate talks in Copenhagen just weeks away, Denmark has additionally invited 191 heads of state and government in a last attempt towards securing a climate action deal.
As it stands, sitxy-five world leaders have confirmed attendance to the U.N. Conference of Parties climate discussions in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Traditionally in attendance by environment ministers from around the world, current discussions as to whether or not a replacement for the Kyoto Protocol will be agreed before it ends in 2012 has led to an invitation extension to global leaders with political influence to add pressure to the discussions.
A comprehensive RSVP list of attendees will not be released as the Danish government have reported each attendee is responsible whether or not to disclose participation.
It has been reported however that many of the registered attendees are from developing nations. Consistent meetings and discussions since 2007 have seen very little progress in bridging the gap of differing views between developed and developing nations.
Key climate change issues from GHG emissions and the creation of a global mitigation fund to assist poorer nations combat change has been hotly debated as many developing nations insist developed nations should lead the way in cutting GHG emissions by slashing rates drastically by 2020.
It is believed this will ensure developing nations will follow suit by example, however the direction of both develop and developing nations will become clearer closer to the COP15 discussion.
