Through our own operations and by working with governments, international organisations, non-governmental organisations and industry partners, Microsoft hopes to demonstrate the real impact that technology can have in achieving shared environmental and sustainable development goals while expanding the benefits of technology.

UNEP and Microsoft have worked together in an official public-private partnership since 2009 with the aim of developing innovative solutions across areas of mutual concern. Together, we helped UNEP implement the first highly efficient green data center in Africa at the new UN headquarter building in Nairobi.


Microsoft to roll out cloud-based sustainablity platform globally
