The three plenray panels at the Forum focussed on finding solutions to the challenges posed by global climate change and the themes addressed were Public-Private-Partnerships: Creating Effective Alliances for Building Green Economies, Sustainable cities: Examining the future for our urban population and Technology and Innovation: Accelerating the green economy. Panellists included key individuals in the climate change and sustainable development debates.

The Forum took place at the InterContinental Hotel in Doha Qatar on Thursday December 6 and was a resounding success with around 350 attendees including leaders in business, industries, government, NGO's and UN bodies. Keynote addresses were delivered by Sheikha Athba Bint Thamer Al Thani of Qatar, Arne Otto, Senior Vice President at OSRAM and Nick Nuttall, UNEP's Acting Director of Communications. 

The three plenray panels at the Forum focussed on finding solutions to the challenges posed by global climate change and the themes addressed were Public-Private-Partnerships: Creating Effective Alliances for Building Green Economies, Sustainable cities: Examining the future for our urban population and Technology and Innovation: Accelerating the green economy. Panellists included key individuals in the climate change and sustainable development debates.

UNEP and Siemens also delivered two highly successful Practitioners Debates that focussed on Energy and Innovation, and Sustainable Cities. The United Nations Deveopment Programme was represented in the debates by Lea Aboujaoudé and ICLEI also had a strong presence with Deputy Secretary-General Gino van Begin.

The Forum also included a Harvard Business Review Webinar that was broadcast to thousands of viewers around the globe. The Webinar fetaured a discussion with future and current influencers including Barbara Kux, Member of the Managing Board at Siemens, Jennifer Morgan, Director at the World Resources Institute and Gregory Unruh, Director at the Lincoln Center for Ethics in Global Management. The theme of the webinar was Future of Energy: Building a Sustainable Future - Unlocking the Energy Challenge and was introduced by UNEP's Executive Director and the United Nations Under-Secretary General Achim Steiner.

The Forum delivered important solutions and addressed the business case for climate change mitigation and adaptation and, along side the COP18 proceedings, formed a key part of the dialogue.
