Mobility Start-Up Gazelle Tech awarded ‘Innovator of the Year’ at the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2019 alongside COP25.

Last week in Madrid during COP25, innovative Start Ups took to the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2019 (SIF19) stage to pitch their solutions for the climate crisis to an expert judging panel from Mission Innovation, XPRIZE, and Climate Policy Initiative, and the Forum delegation. After the live polling led to a three-way tie, a deciding vote from the judges named Gazelle Tech as the winner of the Sustainable Innovation Hub‘s Innovator of the Year 2019.

Gazelle Tech’s CEO, Gaël Lavaud says: “SIF is a great place to meet decision makers and put forward your innovation. Gazelle Tech was really happy to join the 2019 edition, and contribute to Climate Action proposals to save our planet!”

With a mission to develop sustainable mobility for all, Gazelle Tech have developed and patented the AeroCell full composites châssis technology that reduces energy consumption in cars by 40% while maintaining comfort and security.

This innovation dramatically cuts down car weight to make the energy savings. Car weight represents 75% of their energy consumption; an average car weighs ~1,300kg but often only transports one person (~80kg).

This AeroCell châssis is only made of 10 parts which can be assembled within 1 hour. This supports local industry and qualified jobs as the vehicles can be sold in spare parts and assembled locally in their micro-factories made of containers.

Looking to become accredited by the end of 2020, they will prove invaluable to authorities and companies promoting sustainable mobility while creating local jobs. The first franchises will be set up in France and Africa in 2021, and other tailor-made vehicles using Gazelle Tech's technology will follow in the coming years.
